Privacy policy

Last updated: . This version has been in force since that date, until it is next amended.

This is an English translation of the French privacy policy, provided for convenience. The French version is the binding one.

This site collects nothing about you without your knowledge. The only thing that sends us information about you is the callback form on the home page. This page states exactly what it records, why, for how long, and what you can require of us.

Who is responsible for your data

SAS Mazette, publisher of Joornal
6 route de Barateau, 17240 Saint-Dizant-du-Gua, France
SIREN: 904 792 058

Publication director: Yann LEGUILLON
Contact: contact [at] joornal [dot] co

What the form records

Three details you type in, and four your browser sends automatically. We list all of them, including the ones you never see go past.

No other form, no account, no customer area on this site. Access to the Joornal application is on a different domain, which has its own terms.

On what legal basis

Name, email address and phone number are processed as pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): you ask to be called back, we call you back.

Date, IP address and user agent are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) in protecting the form from automated submissions. They serve that purpose only and are never used to profile you.

Who has access

Inside Mazette, the people responsible for answering your request, and no one else. We do not sell, rent or exchange any of this data.

Two technical providers are necessarily involved:

  • OVH SAS (France), which hosts the site and the database where the request is recorded.
  • Mailgun (Sinch group), which delivers the notification message to our mailbox. Where that delivery involves a transfer outside the European Union, it is governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Name, email, phone and language: three years from our last exchange, the period recommended by the French data protection authority for a commercial enquiry.
  • Date, IP address and user agent: twelve months, for as long as they are still useful in detecting abuse.

After those periods, the records are deleted. You may ask for deletion sooner, see below.

This site sets no cookies

No cookie, no tracking pixel, no analytics tool, no third-party script: every resource on this site comes from its own domain. That is why you are shown no consent banner, and it is deliberate.

Two exceptions, and neither leaves your device:

  • If the form rejects your submission, your answers are kept in your browser's session storage so you do not have to type everything again. They disappear when you close the tab.
  • If you switch the currency in which prices are displayed, that choice is kept in your browser's local storage, without any identifier, solely to show amounts in that currency.

Neither is sent to us. Both uses are strictly necessary to the service you request and do not require consent (Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act, loi Informatique et Libertés).

No automated decision-making

Your request is read by a person. Nothing on this site takes an automated decision about you, and no profiling is carried out.

Your rights

At any time you may request access to your data, its rectification, its erasure, the restriction of its processing, its portability, and you may object to its processing.

One address for all of it: contact [at] joornal [dot] co. We answer within one month. No justification will be asked of you for an erasure.

If our answer does not satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority we fall under:

Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL)
3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France

If you live in another European Union country, you may also contact the data protection authority of your own country.
